STARTUP PERK LIST JOURNAL
Startup Perk List Methodology & Sources
Startup Perk List uses a simple evidence ladder. The goal is not to make an offer look certain; it is to make uncertainty visible before a founder spends time, shares company information, or commits a billing account.
Quick answer: Treat the provider’s current terms and account confirmation as the decision source. Startup Perk List organizes evidence and highlights unknowns; it does not approve an applicant or convert a headline maximum into a promise.
Evidence ladder
Section titled “Evidence ladder”- Provider source. A current provider program page, terms page, pricing page, or support article is the primary route. It gets the highest weight.
- Provider application route. A form, dashboard prompt, or partner portal shows how an eligible applicant can actually start. It may still require approval and can change independently of the marketing page.
- Independent observation. A dated catalog capture, public announcement, or founder report helps discover a program or explain context. It is not a substitute for the provider’s current terms.
- Editorial interpretation. Startup Perk List may estimate likely effort, fit, or risk from the evidence above. These are labelled judgments, not provider commitments.
First-party examples
Section titled “First-party examples”The ladder is easiest to apply when the source is concrete. These official pages are examples of the evidence we prefer, not a complete catalog:
| Provider page | What it can confirm | What it cannot confirm |
|---|---|---|
| AWS Activate credits | Published tier, access route, account-linking steps, and the current promotional-terms link | Approval for a particular startup or the amount ultimately granted |
| Google for Startups Cloud Program perks | Program description and the provider-discretion boundary for linked perks | The terms of a third-party perk or an applicant’s account eligibility |
| Google Cloud startup onboarding | Which billing account ID receives approved credits in that program’s flow | A credit balance before the provider confirms it in the account |
| Microsoft Azure credits activation | Current activation path, account setup, and payment-method notes | A guaranteed offer, amount, or approval outside the described program |
Provider pages can change independently of this journal. Keep the URL, page title, capture date, and the exact wording that supports a claim. If a page is silent about an important condition, record needs confirmation instead of filling the gap with a forum post or a marketing maximum.
What gets recorded
Section titled “What gets recorded”For each useful offer we try to preserve the provider name, source URL, capture date, headline value, eligibility clues, application route, expiry language, and any material caveat. If one of those fields is unknown, the note should say so rather than infer a value. A source URL is a starting point: readers should open it, check the visible date or terms, and record the result in their own ledger.
Change and confidence labels
Section titled “Change and confidence labels”- Observed means the linked page or route was reachable at the capture date.
- Needs confirmation means a provider decision, region, account state, or current balance is outside our evidence.
- Historical means the note intentionally describes an earlier capture and should not be read as a live offer.
- Editorial view means a recommendation about process or risk, not a claim about provider policy.
These labels prevent the common mistake of copying a large credit number into a budget before checking the conditions. They also make updates honest: if the provider changes a term, we change the status and date instead of preserving a stale promise.
A reader’s final check
Section titled “A reader’s final check”Before applying, open the provider route, verify the current eligibility and expiry language, check whether a payment method or partner referral is needed, and ask who will own redemption. Record the page title, date checked, and next action. That small audit trail is more useful than a longer list of unverified offers.
See About this journal for our independence and correction boundary, then read the safe-evaluation workflow, the source-kind checklist, or the freshness note.
Last verified
Section titled “Last verified”The source examples and this policy were checked on 2026-08-30 (Asia/Shanghai). Re-open the provider page immediately before an application, activation, renewal, or spend decision. A current provider page and account-specific confirmation always take precedence over this historical capture.
